Juice Fast

A juice fast is the most natural and organic detox diet, and it involves consuming only raw vegetable, fruit juice and water for a short period of time. It is considered one of the most rapid methods of detoxification, due to the reduced food intake and absence of solid food. A typical juice fast lasts one to five days, allowing your digestive system to recover from the demands of solid food digestion.

1Preparation for a Juice Fast

Although it can be tempting to jump into a juice fast, a 3 day preparation is essential because it affects how a person responds to the cleanse. Certain foods, such as coffee, sugar, meat, dairy,alcohol, and wheat are phased out to reduce headaches, cravings, and other withdrawal symptoms. It’s also important to up your intake of fresh vegetables during the pre-fast. A. Give Your Diet a Mini-Makeover by eliminating alcohol, sugar, dairy, wheat, artificial sweeteners, trans fats, and packaged, boxed, canned as well as fast food. B. Prevent Caffeine Withdrawal by gradually decreasing your caffeine intake. C. Drink more water.

3Breaking the Juice Fast

The day after the fast, eat mainly vegetables, either raw or lightly steamed, and fruit or nuts. Portion sizes should be small and the diet should be very similar to what you did to prepare – no sugar, coffee, wheat, gluten foods, processed foods or dairy. The next day, include more plant foods, such as beans,brown rice, or quinoa. Continue to add foods that you’d like to have in your regular diet. 3

During the actual fasting days, approximately 32 to 96 ounces of juice is suggested, with at least half of the juice being green vegetablebased. – Drink a glass of lukewarm water at room temperature upon rising and in-between each juice to promote elimination.
– To optimize the absorption of nutrients, drink each juice slowly rather than gulping it down. Juices should be consumed approximately one to two hours apart. The final beverage of the day should be at least three hours before bedtime.

Here are some tips on how to detox and how to eat healthy to prep your slimming body for the crashing waves on the shore of your local beach.

The Lemon Detox Diet

The 10-day Master Cleanse operates on the principle that, for disease to be addressed, cleansing must be undertaken. Simplifying and correcting disorders through such a process is actually a way of correcting every disease. Observing a healthy diet, regular exercise as well as stress reduction is essential in maintaining the gains that the Master Cleanse Detox diet can offer.

How to do the Master Cleanse.
